Hello! This is Dulce Also known as Nana Ku! I’m an mexican artist currently working on Comics. My whole life I’ve been interested in stories, japan and popular culture. I studied art, because my parents couldn’t stop me from drawing. I draw since I can remember and drawing is all I understand. It was obvious I’d end up drawing comics, since they are this fabulous mix of stories and drawings.
I always want to push my limits, and I’ve always loved Manga and Japanese culture so I decided to finally do something about it. I came across an interesting project that pushed me forward on a desire to explore the tricky term “Latin American Manga” (if such thing exist!) I wanted to get out if my comfort zone and I chose the BL genre (Boys love). That project didn’t quite deliver to the authors who put their faith in it, but I wouldn’t just give up on my comic, which was near the 10th chapter.
I called it Slow Tension and it’s currently, my most known comic.
I want to keep drawing comics, and I’m working in many projects at the same time. I’m also into digital and traditional painting, xylography, linography and traditional printing in general. I love writing and I’ve set up my own studio at home.
I love teaching and English too, so I’m tutoring kids and teenagers on drawing, painting and English. It’s been a couple of difficult years, but I plan to make a living out of my art-related projects. I’m passionate of sharing the process of my work, so I’ve set up a Patreon profile in which you’ll get to read not only my comics (way ahead of other places), but a lot of extra perks and a direct way to communicate with me and support what I do.
Please consider supporting my art!
